Republishing

How other newsrooms and researchers may reuse this material, and the conditions that come with it.

Last updated 1 September 2026 · v2.4

What you may do

Quoting with attribution and a link requires no permission and never will. Newsrooms may republish full reports and news items subject to the conditions below. Dossiers are excluded from full republication because they are living documents with version history that a static copy cannot carry.

Conditions

  1. Attribute to LegalEvidence with a link to the original URL.
  2. Do not edit beyond house style, length and localisation. Do not alter the characterisation of any allegation, finding or fact.
  3. Carry the correction notice if one exists, and update your copy if we issue one after you publish.
  4. Do not present republished material as your own original reporting.
  5. Do not sell republished material as a standalone product or fold it into a commercial dataset.
  6. Do not republish images or documents credited to third parties; those rights are not ours to grant.

Corrections downstream

Tell us where you republish and we will notify you of material corrections. A correction that does not propagate is a correction that did not work, and a republisher who carries a stale version is carrying our error into their own masthead.

Translation

Translation is permitted on the same conditions. Note in the translated piece that it is a translation and link the original, since the distinctions we draw between allegation, finding and fact are load-bearing and easily lost in translation.
