Independent legal & investigative research
The evidence should speak louder than the allegation.
LegalEvidence is an independent legal research and investigative reporting platform built to document matters of public interest through evidence that can be identified, examined and challenged.

We investigate individuals, companies, organisations, legal proceedings and cross-border matters where there is a legitimate basis for public-interest examination. Our work may involve litigation, regulatory proceedings, corporate activity, financial misconduct allegations, fraud, corruption, sanctions, ownership structures and other documented matters.
- We do not exist to declare people guilty. We exist to establish what has been alleged, what can be documented, what remains disputed and what has been determined by a competent authority.
- That distinction governs everything we publish.
01What We Do
We investigate the record behind the claim.
LegalEvidence conducts legal and investigative research using available court records, regulatory materials, government records, corporate filings, official registries, documentary evidence, interviews, lawful open-source intelligence (OSINT) and, where appropriate, on-site investigation.
Our work is published principally through three formats.
Each serves a different purpose. None constitutes, merely by publication, a finding of wrongdoing.
02Why LegalEvidence Exists
Important allegations should not survive on repetition alone.
The internet can preserve an accusation long after its context has disappeared.
A lawsuit may be reported without its eventual dismissal. A criminal charge may appear without the acquittal that followed. A company may be connected to another entity without evidence explaining what that relationship actually means.
The opposite problem also exists. Important court proceedings, regulatory actions and corporate relationships may be scattered across jurisdictions, databases and filings that are difficult to locate or understand together.
LegalEvidence was built to create a more disciplined record. We bring relevant evidence together, identify its source and status, and preserve the distinction between allegation and determination.
03How We Investigate
Start with the question. Follow the evidence.
An investigation should not begin with a desired conclusion.
Our researchers may examine litigation records, corporate structures, directorships, ownership information, regulatory activity, sanctions records, government databases, documentary submissions and other lawfully available material relevant to the matter.
Where appropriate, investigators may use lawful OSINT techniques, conduct interviews and undertake on-site research. Material evidence is assessed for authenticity, provenance, context and relevance before substantive reliance.
Where the evidence contradicts the original premise of an investigation, that contradiction matters. The purpose is to establish the record — not protect the theory.
04Our Review Process
Research. Verification. Legal review. Editorial review.
Material investigations proceed through multiple stages before publication.
This process does not make LegalEvidence a court, regulator or prosecuting authority. Legal review does not transform an allegation into a finding.
05Our Investigators
Some investigations require more than a database search.
LegalEvidence research may extend beyond publicly indexed web results.
Our investigative process may involve corporate and ownership research, litigation analysis, lawful OSINT, documentary verification, source development, interviews and on-site investigation where appropriate.
Investigators are required to work within applicable law and LegalEvidence’s standards. LegalEvidence does not authorise hacking, bribery, theft, unlawful computer access, trespass, unlawful surveillance or fabrication of evidence.
06Evidence, Not Character Judgments
We grade evidence. We do not grade people.
LegalEvidence does not publish a character score declaring that a person is “good,” “bad,” “safe” or “dangerous.” Evidence is classified according to what it establishes.
- A pending proceeding remains pending.
- An allegation remains an allegation unless and until its status changes.
- A finding is attributed to the authority that made it.
- An acquittal, dismissal, reversal or delisting belongs in the record with the same seriousness as the earlier adverse proceeding.
This is why our records distinguish between allegations, proceedings, findings and resolutions. How evidence is classified
07Right of Reply
The subject is part of the evidentiary process.
Where reasonably practicable and appropriate, subjects of material adverse reporting are given an opportunity to respond before publication. Their response is considered alongside the underlying evidence.
A refusal or failure to respond is not evidence of wrongdoing.
Where a subject provides reliable documentation that materially contradicts our existing evidence, that material must be considered before the record is finalised. Subject Rights
08Corrections
Our obligation is to the record, including when the record proves us wrong.
LegalEvidence accepts good-faith challenges to factual accuracy.
Where reliable evidence demonstrates that a material statement is incorrect, we may correct it. Where later events change an earlier accurate record, we may update it. Where a classification no longer reflects the status of proceedings, we may change it.
Subjects do not need to purchase membership to challenge our reporting. Accuracy is not a paid service. Corrections Policy
09Independence
No paid removals. No purchased conclusions.
LegalEvidence does not accept payment, gifts, favors or other consideration in exchange for suppressing, removing, delaying or materially altering accurate reporting.
Research Membership and professional research services are separate from editorial decision-making.
A member may submit evidence. A lawyer may challenge a record. A subject may request correction. Each request is considered according to the evidence.
No person purchases control over the record. Independence Policy
10Professional Research
Research infrastructure for professionals.
LegalEvidence also develops research infrastructure for professionals whose work requires deeper examination of legal and investigative records.
Approved Research Members may receive permission-based access to the LE Intelligence System (LEIS), internal research resources, entity research and professional support. Access is restricted and subject to review.
LEIS is an investigative research system. It does not determine guilt, liability or legal status, and its results must be assessed against their underlying sources. Research Membership
11Who Uses LegalEvidence
People whose decisions depend on the underlying record.
LegalEvidence is designed for people whose decisions depend on understanding the underlying record rather than relying on search results or unsupported claims. This may include:
Different services and information may be subject to different access controls.
12Cross-Border by Design
Evidence does not stop at jurisdictional boundaries.
A single matter may involve a company incorporated in one jurisdiction, directors residing in another, proceedings in a third and assets or counterparties elsewhere.
LegalEvidence is structured to examine those connections without pretending that different legal systems are interchangeable. Our review model incorporates legal perspectives from the United States, United Kingdom and relevant jurisdictions across Asia where applicable.
Applicable law is considered according to the actual jurisdiction concerned. We do not treat “Asia” as one legal system. Browse by jurisdiction
13What LegalEvidence Is Not
Stated plainly, so you can hold us to it.
14Accountability
If we expect subjects to answer the record, we must be prepared to do the same.
Our standards, evidence methodology, correction procedures, subject rights, independence policy and conflict framework are published so that our own process can be examined.
LegalEvidence may also publish transparency information concerning corrections, editorial conflicts and other aspects of its operations where appropriate.
We cannot responsibly publish every piece of information we possess. Source protection, legal privilege, privacy, confidentiality, security and ongoing investigations may require information to remain restricted.
Transparency means explaining the process without compromising the obligations that make responsible investigation possible.
Our principle
Document what can be proved.
Attribute what is alleged.
Preserve what has been determined.
Correct what proves to be wrong.
LegalEvidence exists because serious allegations deserve more than repetition, and serious findings deserve more than a headline.
The record should show where information came from, what it actually establishes and how its status changes over time.
