01LE Intelligence System (LEIS)

Search deeper than the published record.

Approved Research Members receive permission-based access to LEIS, LegalEvidence’s proprietary investigative intelligence system.

LEIS is designed to support structured research into individuals, companies and connected entities. Depending on available records, jurisdiction and user permissions, research may include identity information, corporate affiliations, directorships, ownership indicators, litigation, regulatory matters, related entities and other documented connections.

LEIS is a research tool. Information returned through the system does not, by itself, establish wrongdoing, criminal conduct or civil liability.

02Internal Research Database

Access research that does not appear on the public site.

LegalEvidence may maintain research material beyond what is appropriate or necessary to publish publicly.

Approved members may receive access to selected internal research resources, structured records, source references, historical information and other professional research material according to their permissions.

Not every item held by LegalEvidence is available to every member. Access may be restricted because of confidentiality, privacy, legal privilege, source protection, security, contractual restrictions or applicable law.

Membership does not create a right to inspect LegalEvidence’s entire investigative file.

03Person & Entity Research

Start with a name. Examine the documented connections.

Members may conduct research concerning individuals and organisations using available LegalEvidence research systems. Depending on the subject and available evidence, research may identify relevant:

Companies and directorshipsCorporate affiliationsLitigationRegulatory proceedingsOwnership informationRelated entitiesJurisdictionsHistorical recordsLegalEvidence records

Name matches and analytical connections must be independently assessed. A search result should not be treated as confirmation that two similarly named persons are the same individual.

04Legal Case & Litigation Research

Support for examining cases, proceedings and litigation records.

Research Membership can support professional examination of legal cases, court proceedings and litigation records.

Where available, members may identify proceedings connected with a person or entity and review associated case information, sources and LegalEvidence research.

LegalEvidence does not replace official court dockets, formal discovery or professional legal research required in a particular proceeding. Material information intended for use in litigation should be independently checked against the relevant official source.

05Corporate & Financial Investigation Research

Understand the entities behind the matter.

Members may use available research tools to examine corporate structures and documented commercial relationships relevant to an investigation.

Research may include companies, directors, registered ownership, disclosed control, related entities, corporate histories and cross-border connections.

The existence of an offshore company, complex ownership structure, corporate relationship or financial connection does not itself establish unlawful activity. Any conclusion must remain supported by the underlying evidence.

06Add Evidence & Additional Information

Members can contribute to the record — but cannot dictate it.

Research Members may submit additional information, documents and source material concerning an existing or potential LegalEvidence record.

This may include court documents, regulatory materials, corporate records, contracts, correspondence, transaction records and other relevant evidence.

Submitted material is subject to LegalEvidence’s normal verification process. Membership does not cause submitted information to be presumed accurate or guarantee its publication.

07Record Review & Edit Requests

Request a change. Support it with evidence.

Members may submit documented requests concerning information contained within a LegalEvidence record.

Where a member identifies a factual error, mistaken identity, subsequent judgment, dismissal, acquittal, corrected filing or other material development, supporting evidence may be submitted for review.

Where the evidence warrants a correction, clarification, update or reclassification, LegalEvidence may amend the record.

Request, not accessAn “edit request” is a request for editorial review. It is not direct editorial access and does not permit a member to independently modify published LegalEvidence content.

09Evidence Analysis

Making the evidentiary position easier to understand.

Members may request assistance understanding how different documents relate to a matter.

For example, a research file may contain a complaint, subsequent court order, corporate filing and regulatory notice that appear to concern the same subject. LegalEvidence may assist in organising those records and distinguishing what each source establishes.

The objective is not to provide a predetermined conclusion.

10Research Across Jurisdictions

Complex matters rarely stop at one border.

LegalEvidence research may involve records originating from multiple jurisdictions. Depending on availability and permissions, members may use LegalEvidence resources to examine cross-border corporate structures, proceedings, entities and documented relationships.

Legal terminology, record availability, privacy requirements and evidentiary significance vary substantially between jurisdictions. LegalEvidence therefore does not treat a record from one jurisdiction as having an identical legal meaning in another.

14Research Is Not Adjudication

A database result is not a finding of guilt.

LEIS and LegalEvidence research resources may contain or identify allegations, proceedings, associations, historical information and other material that has not resulted in a legal determination. Members must distinguish between:

AllegationProceedingFindingResolution

Research results should be examined against their underlying sources before consequential conclusions are drawn.

LegalEvidence does not determine criminal guilt, civil liability or regulatory responsibility.

15Membership & Editorial Independence

Access does not buy influence.

Research Membership is financially and editorially separate from LegalEvidence’s publication decisions. A member receives no right to:

  • remove an accurate record;
  • prevent an investigation;
  • suppress evidence;
  • select an evidence grade;
  • approve editorial copy;
  • require favourable reporting; or
  • obtain a correction unsupported by evidence.

A member’s documents are reviewed under the same evidentiary principles applied to documents received from non-members.

Evidence can change a record. Membership cannot. Independence Policy
