Research tooling

Triage first. Judgement stays with you.

Evidence Scanner runs a subject against the structured archive and returns what exists, what is contested and what is missing — with every item resolving to the record behind it. It shortens the search. It does not reach a conclusion, and it is not built to.

Section 01

What it does

The archive is already navigable by hand. Scanner exists because analysts run the same six searches on every name they touch, and doing that manually across 110 jurisdictions is where the hours go.

01

Entity resolution

Resolves a name to the entities that actually match it, and shows the near-misses it excluded — transliteration variants, common-name collisions, dissolved predecessors — so you can check the exclusion rather than trust it.

02

Structured trails

Follows officers, shareholders, addresses and counterparties across the archive and surfaces the connections that recur. Every hop is a link to the filing that supports it.

03

Risk indicators

Returns the indicators attached to a subject with their evidentiary grade and date. An indicator is a pointer to a document, never a verdict rendered on the subject.

04

Watchlists

Track a book of entities and receive changes as they land: new filings, docket movement, designation changes, corrections to records you rely on.

05

Change alerts

Alerts fire on movement in the underlying record, not on sentiment or mentions. A name appearing in adverse coverage is not the same event as a register updating, and they are reported separately.

06

Exportable output

Results export with the full citation chain intact, so a file can be dropped into a diligence pack and still be audited by whoever reads it next.

Section 02

How a scan runs

Five stages, in this order. Nothing is inferred at a later stage that was not established at an earlier one.

  1. Stage 01

    Resolve

The query is matched against entities in the archive. Candidates that do not resolve cleanly are returned as ambiguous rather than merged.

  2. Stage 02

    Retrieve

Published records, indicators and connected entities are pulled with their source references and retrieval dates attached.

  3. Stage 03

    Grade

Each item carries its evidentiary weight — adjudicated, proceeding, documented allegation, documented indicator — rather than a single blended number.

  4. Stage 04

    Gap report

The scan states what it could not find and which registers are closed, so an absence is never read as a clearance.

  5. Stage 05

    Export

Output is generated with citations intact and a timestamp, making the result reproducible by a third party later.

Section 03

What it does not do.

Worth reading before you buy it. A tool oversold is a tool misused, and in diligence work the cost of that lands on a person rather than on us.

It does not make a decision. Scanner produces no onboard, decline, exit or report recommendation. It has no view on whether a counterparty is acceptable, and any output framed that way would be us substituting our judgement for a duty that is legally yours.

It does not score people by suspicion. Indicators are weighted by how well evidenced they are and how recent, in order to prioritise review. A high position in a queue means a file deserves a human hour, not that a subject has done anything.

It does not see into closed registers. Where a jurisdiction publishes no ownership data, no docket or no accounts, Scanner reports the gap. It does not fill it with inference, and it will not tell you a subject is clean because a register would not answer.

It is not a substitute for diligence. It is the part of diligence that can be automated without lying to you. The rest — reading the filing, calling the registry, asking the awkward question — is still work somebody has to do.

Section 04

Access

Reading the archive is free and always will be. Scanner is the research layer on top of it, and it is what membership pays for.

TierForIncludesStatus
PublicAnyoneFull read access to every dossier, report, news item and source record. No account required.Free, permanent
MemberIndividual analysts, journalists, researchersScanner queries, watchlists, change alerts, cited exports, archive-wide search across all record types.Membership
InstitutionalCompliance functions, law firms, newsrooms, universities, public bodiesSeats for multiple users, bulk access, integration support, and named attribution in the annual report.By arrangement

Access conditions

Scanner access is refused to entities profiled in the archive, to parties acting for them, and to reputation-management contractors. Accounts used to monitor a subject on that subject's behalf are closed. Access is also refused where the intended use is the surveillance or profiling of private individuals rather than the diligence of entities and networks.

Check a name against the record in minutes, not days.

Every result links back to the document behind it. Membership keeps the Scanner running — and keeps the archive free of money from the people it covers.
