Accessibility
Our conformance target, what currently falls short of it, and how to report a barrier.
Last updated 1 September 2026 · v2.4
Conformance target
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is checked at design review and before release, using automated testing, keyboard-only navigation, and screen-reader passes on core templates.
What is in place
- Semantic document structure with a single logical heading order per page.
- Keyboard access to all interactive controls, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text contrast meeting AA against the dark interface, verified per token rather than per component.
- Data tables with real header associations, not visual styling alone.
- Reduced-motion preferences respected throughout.
- Text resizable to 200 percent without loss of content or function.
Known limitations
Dense jurisdiction and register tables are difficult to navigate on small screens with a screen reader. Some archived source documents are third-party PDFs that are not tagged and, where scanned, are not searchable. We provide an extracted text alternative where we hold one, and will produce one on request.
Reporting a barrier
Write to legal@legalevidence.org with the page URL, your assistive technology and version, and what you were trying to do. We acknowledge within three working days and will tell you the remedy and timescale, including an alternative means of access while a fix is pending.
