Introducing LegalEvidence
LegalEvidence launches as an independent archive where every claim is sourced, every record is versioned, and every subject is offered a right of reply before publication.
By LegalEvidence Editorial · 20 September 2026

LegalEvidence is now open. It is an archive of structured records on companies, networks and jurisdictions in cross-border finance — built so that a reader can audit each file rather than simply trust it.
What makes a record here different
Every material claim is tied to a numbered entry in the source record, naming the issuing body and the date the document was retrieved. Sources are tiered by how independently a reader could verify them, and a claim is only as strong as the weakest source it depends on.
Risk indicators come from a fixed vocabulary rather than free text. Each carries an evidence grade — from adjudicated through proceeding, documented allegation and documented indicator, to cleared — so two records can be compared honestly.
Commitments we publish ourselves to
- Presumption of innocence. Allegations, civil findings and criminal determinations are always labelled separately.
- Right of reply. Specific findings go to the subject in writing before publication, with at least fourteen days to respond. Responses are printed in full.
- Open corrections. Errors are corrected publicly, timestamped and shown beside the text they replaced.
- No paid removals. No record is removed, softened or delayed in exchange for money.
Free to read
The archive is free to read with no account. A research membership adds tools for professional users, and helps keep the archive independent of the people it reports on.
If a sentence is only defensible because a reader misunderstands it, the sentence is wrong.
Our evidence standards set out how a record is made, and the transparency report shows our own figures, counted live.
